Inviting owners & members

Send invitations so clients can join their team and take ownership.

Once a client's team exists, you bring people in with invitations. Partners can invite
both the team owner — who will administer the team — and individual members.

Invite a team owner

From a team's detail page in the partner portal, use invite owner to send an invitation
to the person who should run the team. When they accept, they become the team's owner and
can manage its branding and members.

Invite members

Use invite member to add the rest of the client's people. Each invited member gets their
own card under the team, automatically covered by the team's branding when the brand is
locked.

How invitations work

Invitations are link-based and tie into Microsoft sign-in:

  1. The invitee opens their invitation link.
  2. If they aren't signed in, they're sent to Microsoft to authenticate; the invitation is
    remembered through the round-trip.
  3. After signing in, accepting the invitation applies it to their account and adds them to
    the team.

Because Kard uses Microsoft single sign-on, invitees don't create a password — they simply
sign in with their work account and they're in.
